The story of
William M. Sherring, 58, of Fallbrook, CA, passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2024, at Temecula Hospital with his family by his side. Born on July 26, 1966, in Geneva, NY, William was a loving and devoted father, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Madilyn Sherring; his cherished step-sons, Christopher (Jillian) Teague and Dakota (Mackenzie Cole) Powers; his sister, Kathryn Ortiz; his nephew, Ryan Ortiz; his niece, Krista (Erik Mason)Ortiz; his ex-wife, Devon Hartman; his mother-and father-in-law, Cherie and Nick Hartman; and his lifelong best friends, Sean Cunningham and Dominic Teague. He is also survived by many cousins and friends. William was predeceased by his parents, William and Helen Sherring of Geneva, NY, and his favorite aunt, Marie Brady. A proud Marine Corps veteran and sharpshooter, William was hardworking, loyal, and above all, a devoted father. He cherished spending time with his daughter, Madilyn, and some of their favorite pastimes were riding dirt bikes and visiting Deluz Creek in Fallbrook, CA. He also had a love for hockey, planting flowers, cutting the grass, and splitting wood, activities that reminded him of his father. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Riverside National Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust for his 11 year old daughter, Madilyn, by contacting her grandmother Cheriehartman@cox.net. William will be remembered for his dedication to his daughter, family and friends, his memory will forever live on in their hearts.
