The story of
Vernon Darrel Foster 10/31/1948 - 5/10/2024 Vernon passed away in Aurora, CO due to complications caused by a cardiac episode, on 10 May 2024 surrounded by all of his children. He was born in Edna, KS and is predeceased by his parents Clyde and Darlene, as well as a sister, Barbara Moore. He is survived by siblings, Tim Foster, and Cathy Fugate. Vernon spent most of his life in Ks before moving to Oklahoma, and finally to Washington where he was a resident at the time of his death. He leaves behind five children. Jason Foster and family of Washington, Nicholas Foster and family of Oklahoma, Adrienne Foster and family of Washington, Misty Nalley and family of Oklahoma, and Lucas Hannah and family of Kansas, as well as countless grandchildren and great grandchildren in addition to extended family, friends, and loved ones. Vernon graduated in 1966 from Edna High School. He went on to join the Air Force serving from 13 November 1967 to 23 May 1971 as a nuclear weapons specialist. He enjoyed talking about his time spent in Greece. He went on to build his family and settle down in Coffeyville, KS where he spent most of his life. He worked at Morrow Foundry and then John Deere where he retired. He was very much a midwesterner. He enjoyed Bonanza and western movies, loved coffee and sweets, spending time with family, sports (all of them), and was an avid solitaire and candy crush player. He will be missed by many as he touched so many peoples lives. There will be a service in memory of Vernon on Saturday, 22 June 2024 at 11am at Crosstimbers Community Church in Edna, KS. Any donations can gbe given to Vernon's sister, Cathy Fugate who will be at the service.
