Venita Loy Hatch, 87, entered the gates of heaven to angelic singing as a good and faithful servant on March 15, 2025.
Venita was born in Jensen, Utah, on December 13, 1937, to Samuel and Leita Hatch (Lucille Hatch, stepmother). She was the middle sibling to her brother, Ronald Hatch, and her sister Janet (Hatch) Abplanalp.
Venita married McCoy Kanistanaux in 1953, and they had six children together: Leita (Kanistanaux) Earl, Koler Kanistanaux, Scarlett Kanistanaux, Darron Kanistanaux, Eric Kanistanaux, and Adoria (Kanistanaux) Kante’. They moved to Washington in 1960 and eventually settled in Auburn.
Venita dedicated her life to Jesus Christ in 1972. Shortly thereafter, she married James Arland. They served as church members of Calvary Temple in Auburn, WA, for many years. Venita led a Women’s Bible Study and mentored young women and teens. She inspired many throughout her life with her faithfulness and Christ-like example.
Venita enjoyed gardening and interior design. She was a talented seamstress, an excellent cook and baker. She taught exercise classes and advocated for nutrition and health. She owned a home cleaning business as well as an interior painting/ wallpapering business. She worked at Ernst Hardware and at Home Depot in the paint and gardening department. She loved to take road trips with family. Special trips of note were a backpacking trip to New Zealand and a missions trip to Tanzania, Africa.
Venita was also a grandma to Andrea Earl & Hannah (Earl) Bennett and a great-grandma to Lylah Bennett and Catherine (Cate) Bennett. She loved and adored her grandchildren.
Venita was a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her love, kindness, and welcoming nature. She had a great sense of humor; her laugh was infectious. She was a compassionate listener and encourager.
Venita was preceded in death by her sons Eric and Koler, her sister Janet, and her brother Ronald. She is survived by her children: Leita, Scarlett, Darron, and Adoria; grandchildren Andrea and Hannah (Clay); great-grandchildren Lylah and Cate; and many dear friends.
A service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 410 H St. NE., Auburn, WA, on May 17, 2025, from 3:00-4:00 pm.
