The story of
Born Susan Mary Robinson on September 12, 1947 in Buffalo NY to George & Alvera (Manno) Robinson, she left us on October 15, 2024 She is survived by partner Gary Stroup, children Joseph, Jeffrey and Janel Panek, grandchildren Joseph, Victor and Lucas Panek, five siblings, and an extended family that she treasured. Susan graduated high school in 1965 with dreams of going to college, instead she married Joseph Panek in 1968. They left Buffalo for West Virginia and then California, taking their 3 children on a journey. Susan did achieve her goal of higher education- she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication from Mill’s College Oakland CA in 1985 & received a Master’s degree in Holistic Health Education from Hollins College Roanoke VA in 1999. Suzann was an educator, counselor, relationship coach, spiritual director, professor & author of “Exploring Intimacy” and the in-progress creative memoir “Loving More Than One”. She continued her journey both through travel and learning about the mind & body. She taught at several institutions and was involved in many communities & organizations with her primary focus on holistic health, “in-to-me-see” and the intersection of sexuality & spirituality. Suzann & Gary met in 2008 and built a life together in their chosen home of Coos Bay, Oregon where he continues to hold down the fort. Family celebration of life will be Spring Equinox 2025 with ashes scattered far & wide as both her influence and travels.
