The story of
Susan Rondinelli (74) of Wheat Ridge, CO took her final breath after a very short battle with lung cancer on Friday, July 26th, 2024. Her eldest son, Dylan Boyd of Hillsboro, OR was by her side throughout her final moments, making sure she was surrounded by love. Before she took her final breath, she was able to hear her youngest son, Derek Boyd of Vancouver, WA praise her for her love and understanding, and listen to her daughter-in-law (Katherine Boyd) and grandkids (Annika and Bailey Boyd) as they regaled her with fun memories of her last trip to Oregon. Dylan read the below quote to her during what was her last moments, "Picture a wave. In the ocean. You can see it, measure it, its height, the way the sunlight refracts when it passes through. And it's there. And you can see it, you know what it is. It's a wave. And then it crashes in the shore and it's gone. But the water is still there. The wave was just a different way for the water to be, for a little while. You know it's one conception of death for Buddhists: the wave returns to the ocean, where it came from and where it's supposed to be.” She was a sounding board, a cheerleader, a great mom and an even better Nana (to more than just her own grandkids). She liked a good giggle, loved her cats (and any other animal she crossed paths with), her gardening, sewing, painting and yoga and she always encouraged folks to not hold back and always find a way to make dreams a possibility. A celebration of her life will take place at the Oregon coast sometime soon... in the mean time go out and plant a tree, make sure the bees have enough flowers, donate blood, adopt a fur baby, watch goofy animal videos, enjoy your kids/grandkids to the fullest... just take care of you as she would have.
