The story of
Our dear mother, Shirley Lorraine Elliott-Taylor, sadly passed away on August 18, 2024, at the age of 95. Preceded in death were her parents Archie and Ruth Elliott, and two brothers Walter Elliott and Archie Elliott Jr. She leaves a legacy of precious memories to her siblings: Patricia Mullins, Ruth Vandruska, Frederick Elliott (Betty), Robert Elliott, Lloyd Elliott (Laura); her four children: Sheila Lucas (Steven), Lesley Marshall, Pamela Jordan, and Melvin Younger; her four grandchildren: Shirley Mitchell, Maya Mitchell, Sheila Jordan, and Lorin Marshall, and also seven great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Our mother loved to make beautiful quilts, hand-sewn wall murals, clothing, and a variety of dolls for her family. Her favorite things to do were cooking and baking cakes and pies, and also shopping at Goodwill, and it shows from all the antique clocks accumulated (chuckle). Our mother will be greatly missed by many. (Poem written by daughter, Lesley Marshall) I Am Let Me Enter Your Soul, For just as old lives are taken, So shall new lives be given. Believe In Me, For the leaves turn colors in the Fall and wither away, Yet so shall hiding life return in Spring. Smile Onto Me, For just as sadness overshadows your smile, So shall happiness overflow your body. Fear Me Not, For when night comes There shall be darkness, But when the sun shines, There shall be light. Let Me Be Part of You, For just as flowers come from seeds, I AM LOVE.
