The story of
Sharon Legler, 76, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born Sharon Cameron in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on July 6, 1947, to John and Ada Cameron and her stepmother Betty (all predeceased). Sharon moved to Maryland in 1973, where she met her husband, Dennis Legler. They were happily married for 46 years. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children, Tracy Shannon (partner Mali Long) and Chad Legler (wife Chrissy); her grandchildren, Cameron and Caden Legler; and her sister, Margery Johnson (widowed). She was predeceased by her brother, Jack (wife Henrietta), and sister, Joanie (husband Bud). Additionally, Sharon leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Sharon's professional journey included roles at NAD, IMS, and culminated in a fulfilling position at Gallaudet University's Admissions Office. While there, she pursued her passion for learning, gradually earning her BA in Communication Arts in 1996. An active member of The Grand community in Surprise, AZ, Sharon found joy in various classes and workshops, especially those focusing on Grand Glass Arts and Paper Arts and Memories. She relished social activities, participating in a ladies' putting group and faithfully attending games. Within the deaf community, Sharon found fulfillment in attending and volunteering at social gatherings. Sharon's affectionate nature and presence meant the world to her family, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in their lives, one that will be felt for years to come. Likewise, Sharon was a deeply kind, and sociable individual whose absence will be keenly felt by all her friends and acquaintances who had the privilege of knowing her. A Celebration of Life will be held at Agua Fria Room at The Grand Cimarron Center (17100 W. Clearview Blvd Surprise, AZ 85387) on Friday, Oct 4th at 1:00-5:00 pm.
