Richard Steven Foggio passed away peacefully at his home in Saratoga Springs, Utah on November 21, 2024 at the age of 65, surrounded by family.
Richard was a beloved husband, father, brother, son and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him. Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Peggy, his son, Richard H., his daughter, Devon, his brother, Robert, and father, Richard D.. He is predeceased by his mother Doris Lloyd.
Richard was a man of integrity, strength and deep compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a thoughtful word. He loved the outdoors, from mountains to beaches, hiking and water sports. He loved travel and classic Porsches. He was a long time member of Porsche Club of America.
Richard was a distinguished financial executive and leader with a career spanning over four decades. Richard brought his strategic vision, analytical prowess, and commitment to excellence to some of the world’s most renowned organizations, including Ralph Lauren, Avon Products, CBS, American Can Company and CFO Performance Partners. Rich resided in New York City, NY, Allendale, NJ and Westport, CT. While employed by Avon, Richard and his family lived in England for three years, guiding their European operations, and making lifelong friendships abroad.
Richard was a graduate of Columbia University with a M.B.A in Finance and Marketing and held a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Rochester. He was a brother of Alpha Delta Phi and treasured those enduring friendships.
Richard combined technical expertise with strategic acumen (with many one-liners along the way). His unique combination of intelligence, humor, and ability to deep dive study any subject made him a valued resource. His expertise extended beyond the boardroom, contributing to industry discussions through affiliations with the CFO Leadership Group, Controllers Leadership Roundtable, and as a guest lecturer at Columbia Business School. Outside of his professional achievements, he was a mentor, guide, and inspiration to many, leaving an indelible mark on those who worked alongside him.
Following his retirement to Utah in 2018, he was the Treasurer of the Saratoga Springs Homeowner's Association, and a dedicated advocate for conservation.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family requests donations be made in honor of Richard to Conserve Utah Valley, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that he worked with and deeply respected. https://conserveutahvalley.org
