The story of
Nancy Diane Wendel (1958 - 2024) Nancy Diane Wendel was born on January 26, 1958, in Victoria, Texas, to Robert L. Faley and Mary Virginia Faley (Mumme). She courageously battled chronic kidney disease until she was called to our Lord on June 19, 2024. Nancy passed away peacefully at her home in Lacey, WA, surrounded by her loving family. As a child, Nancy lived in various places, including New England and the Midwest, before her family settled in Mission Viejo, California, when she was just 12 years old. She attended Dana Hills High School, where she was not only an avid surfer but also actively involved in high school theater. In 1978, she met her future husband, Dave Wendel, while working in Newport Beach, California. The couple relocated to Western Washington in 1979 and exchanged vows on August 11, 1979, at Lake Tahoe. Together, they raised two children: Jennifer Brittany Wendel (born in 1983) and William Brody Wendel (born in 1989). Throughout the years, Nancy and Dave shared their lives with seven golden retrievers, bringing joy and companionship to their family. Nancy dedicated countless hours to volunteering at her children’s schools, supporting various events, and assisting wherever needed. Her passion for interior design led her to help anyone who sought her expertise. Additionally, Nancy was a car enthusiast, particularly enjoying fast and sleek cars. She had recently become comfortable driving her Tesla Model X Performance. Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Dave, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage, as well as her children, Brittany and Brody. Her legacy also includes her 10-year-old grandson, Tyson (Brittany and Adam), and their beloved 4-year-old Cockapoo, Lola. Our love for Nancy will endure for eternity.
