In Loving Memory of Michael (Muffy) Springli
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael (Muffy) Springli, who departed this world on March 31st at the age of 71. A proud father, loving husband, and cherished friend, Muffy leaves behind a legacy of stubbornness that will be remembered.
Born on April 26, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri, Muffy grew up with a deep passion for sports that followed him throughout his life. Whether it was rooting for his favorite Colorado teams, playing, umpiring or coaching, his love for sports was infectious, particularly baseball and hockey. Muffy perfected the art of digging in his heels, he learned this early in life as a hockey goalie. He was endlessly entertaining with a stubborn charm, a title he wore with pride. Despite his hardheadedness, Muffy had a heart of gold. He was fierce, playful and loving, and always the first to offer unsolicited advice. His bullheaded streak was matched only by his determination to protect those he loved.
Muffy is preceded in death by his father, Bill and his mother, Marie (Toots). He is survived by his wife, Charli(Chuckles) and daughter Reggie, who will forever cherish the memories of his spirited debates and his ability to turn simple tasks into a matter of principle. In his honor, the family asks that you never back down from a good dispute and always stand your ground—just as he would have wanted.
In honor of Muffy, a celebration of his life will be held at 3pm on April 13th at Dam West Clubhouse. Friends and loved ones are invited to share memories and stories of the man who brought laughs to those around him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in honor of Michael (Muffy) Springli, to SimiSleighs Foundation, a charitable organization empowering girls and women to thrive through sports.
