Michael Lewis Linden, 73, of Colby, Kansas passed away from this life on October 23, 2024 in Denver, Colorado. He was born March 29, 1951 at St. Thomas hospital in Colby to his parents Lewis B Linden and Rose M. (Martin) Linden. Mike grew up in Colby in a construction background with a love for music. At an early age, his sister Frances and he would sing solos and duets while their mother would accompany them at the piano. These talents were developed at an early age and he would sing and play solos at school programs and performances.
Mike attended Colby Community College where he was the first presidential scholar president in 1970 and received an Associates of Arts in Music. He then went on to attend Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS and received a Bachelors of Arts in music education in 1973. Mike began his journey in life by teaching vocal music at Madison, Kansas public schools, grades K-12. Later, Mike returned to Colby and rekindled his construction roots. His 40+ years of owning his construction company led him to many different towns across Kansas. He continued to feed his musical love by directing several church choirs, director for many years of both the men's Barbershop chorus and women's Sweet Adelines chorus. Also he was in several barbershop quartets, playing in community bands, directing community chorus and giving private voice lessons.
His greatest creations of life were his two daughters, Heather and Bethanie. His love for them never ended.
He is survived by his daughters Heather (Bill) Wilkins, Cozad, NE and Bethanie (Scott) Cameron, Colby; granddaughters Aaliyah, Palmer, Lennyx Wilkins and Olivia and Nadia Williams. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Frances Trail.
A private memorial and inurnment will be held at a later time.
