The story of
Michael Howell Bretz would have wanted to be remembered as the funniest man alive (other than Chevy Chase and Bill Murray) and was an amazing husband, father and grandfather (to three kitties.) He left this earth on Saturday March 15th at 6:09pm after suffering from severe Pneumonia but will be remembered by so many. Michael served in the US Air Force and worked for the Middletown School District and the PA State Department. He also taught Sunday School, coached several sports for his daughters and helped run the Middletown Swim Club. Even after retirement he enjoyed running a senior center in Laughlin, NV so he could stay active and continue his widely renowned sarcasm. He is survived by a loving wife, Linda Bretz, two daughters, Leslie Crater and Lindsay Morgan, a brother David Bretz and two sisters, Lona Bretz and Abby Wetherington. He is also survived by his adopted son Mark Turner by friendship. Mike loved Ketchup, Cherry Pie, Lasagna, Cornhole Tournaments, collecting coins and toy cars and just being around great people. There will be two celebrations of life in honor of the great Mike Bretz. One will take place in Laughlin, NV (where he spent the last 16 years of his life) and one will take place in PA where he lived the other part of his life. Dates will be announced in the next few weeks. Cards and gifts can be sent to 3288 Pheasant Hills Way Laughlin, NV 89029. Please don’t feel sad about Michael’s passing but rather remember all of the incredibly fun and wonderful moments you had with him and his family. He would want that.
