Born on August 13, 1980, in Des Moines, Iowa, Melissa’s vibrant personality and kind heart made her a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend to all who knew her. Melissa is survived by her three precious children, Khloey (24), Khayla (15), and Khayden (12), who were the lights of her life. She also leaves behind her devoted parents, Robert and Rebecca Summers, who cherished her deeply, and her older sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Darryl Mendoza, who were her pillars of support and love. Melissa’s life was one of generosity, laughter, and joy. She was a selfless woman who would do anything for her friends and family, always putting others first. She had a natural ability to make those around her feel loved, supported, and valued. Her presence could light up a room, and her laughter was infectious. The beach was Melissa’s sanctuary, a place where she found peace and happiness. Many weekends were spent with family and friends at Seaside Beach, where she would bask in the salty air, collect seashells, and create cherished memories.
