The story of
Mary Elvira Hetrick, 69, passed peacefully to be with our Lord on Friday, November 15th, 2024 in Denver, Colorado. Mary was born in Pirmasens, Germany on January 30th, 1955. Mary came to the United States as a small child where she traveled with her family until eventually moving to Colorado and growing up in the Widefield area with her brother and sisters. Mary was one of the kindest, most selfless people anyone would meet, she made friends easily and did not know a stranger. Mary had a sense of humor that could cheer up the saddest person and her laughter was infectious. Mary had a love for animals and a passion for helping them. She also loved children and spent much of her young adult life teaching them in both private and public day care centers. Mary spent her days reading, watching her favorite TV shows, spending time with family and friends and rooting for her favorite NFL football team, the Denver Broncos. Mary is survived by her father, Robert Tacheny, her brother Steve Tacheny, her sister Patty Bright, her sister Cindy Steele, her daughter Shana Berryhill, her son Adam Hetrick, 2 grandchildren, 1 great grand daughter and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Erna Tacheny and her twin brother, Robert Bastian. It was Mary's wish to be cremated and have her ashes scattered at the Cat Care Society in Denver. A celebration of life will be held at a later date yet to be determined.
