Martha Louis Tybur of Phoenix, AZ went to see her Lord on January 13, 2025, after living a full and joyous life filled with friendships, giving, adventures, and much love among her family. She was born in El Paso, TX on April 9, 1952, to Lois and William Tybur. The Tybur’s moved to Arizona in 1956, where Martha attended St. Vincent de Paul, St. Mary’s, and St. Gregory elementary schools before graduating from St. Mary's High School in 1970. After receiving her education degree from Northern Arizona University, she embarked on a fulfilling 46-year teaching career with the Washington Elementary School District. She especially enjoyed teaching special needs and disadvantaged children, and students learning English as a Second Language. She was great at her job, and every class, every year, including her fellow teachers, became family to her. Martha had wonderful passions for reading, movies, card and board games, all kinds of music (but especially Bruce Springsteen), traveling, Mexican food, sports bars, live concerts, and she loved the Phoenix Suns. But what really got her up every morning, particularly in her later life, was being an integral part of her nephew's family. After her older sister passed, Martha became much more than 'Aunt Martha.' spending holidays and vacations with them in Portland, OR, and chatting and playing online games with the kids as often as possible. Loved by all who knew her, Martha Tybur was an independent woman who would try just about anything if it looked fun and was always interested in learning new things. She had a full, hearty laugh and smiled a lot, and truly believed in the Golden Rule. She is survived by her brother William Tybur, nephew Bryan Endreson, niece-in-law Erin Endreson, great-niece Lyla Endreson, great-nephew Bodie Endreson and cousin Emma Kresser. A celebration of life will be held in the near future, and in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Special Olympics.
