The story of
Marcus D. "Telay" Lewis, 38, passed away on February 25, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in Oakland, California, Marcus pursued his education with determination and passion as he traveled in childhood attending schools in Los Angeles CA, Charlotte, NC, Miami FL and Las Vegas. He later attended Job Corps in Treasure Island, San Francisco, where he earned his high school diploma and studied office administration. His journey then led him back to Las Vegas, where he spent years honing his skills at The Art Institute of Las Vegas before shifting his focus to the Aviation Institute of Maintenance. Unfortunately, his studies were interrupted by illness before he could complete this chapter of his life. Marcus was an extraordinary artist with a boundless creative spirit. Whether drawing, painting, or crafting something entirely unique, he had an innate ability to bring visions to life through his art. His talent was matched only by his infectious sense of humor—his never-ending jokes and laughter brought joy to all who knew him. Above all else, Marcus was a devoted husband and a loving father. He cherished his family deeply and took immense pride in being an adoring husband to Courtneay Lewis and a doting father to his beloved daughters, Camille and Carmen Lewis. His presence was a source of warmth and strength for those closest to him. He is survived by his father, Maurice David Lewis Sr(Jessie).; his wife, Courtneay Lewis; and his daughters,Camille and Carmen Lewis. He also leaves behind his brothers: Eric Torrence, Jason Torrence, Maurice "Bunky" Lewis Jr., Miguel Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Moses (Keya) Lewis, Mason Quick, and Benjamin Lewis; Sister Membra Moore as well as his cherished sister/cousins Sheila Natt and India Best as well as a beautiful host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Marcus was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ester Waldenia Torrence, Aunt, Stephanie Best, and grandmother, Maude Robinson. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 5, 2025, at 1820 W Rainbow Blvd Suite 101, Las Vegas, NV 89118 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Marcus touched the lives of so many with his kindness, humor, and artistic brilliance. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him most.
