The story of Lon
Lon Anthony Cassino passed away on February 4, 2023, after a long battle with heart disease. He is survived by his wife, Denise, his brothers Lance Cassino and Lynn Cassino, his nephew, Jason Cassino, (Sarena), his great-niece, Emma Cassino and great-nephew, Tobey Cassino; his niece, Jill Statter (Scott), his great-niece, Harper Statter and great nephew Mason Statter; his sister-in-law, Robin Charlsen (Tim); his nephew Jack Fitzgerald (Carry); his great nephew Jackson and his great-niece Katie; his niece, Shelly Resseguie (Randall); his niece Katie Marsh (Jeffery) and his great nephews Jacob Marsh, Jared Marsh and his great-niece, McKenzie Marsh; his brother-in-law John Fitzgerald (Pam). Lon was born on December 20, 1947, in Denver, Colorado to Julian and Elizabeth (Betty) Cassino. He attended Lincoln High School and graduated with a degree in finance and marketing from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. He met Denise Fitzgerald, the love of his life, in 1975, and they married in 1978. Lon and Denise both had lifelong careers in real estate, founding their company, Colorado Real Estate Group, in 1985. Lon loved the mountains and in 1988, he and Denise moved to Conifer where they completed a home on the property his great-grandparents homesteaded in 1915. With a larger-than-life personality, he was a great athlete who enjoyed snow skiing, boating, and water skiing. He was adventurous, spirited, fun, and always enjoyed a good prank. Gifted with many talents and skills, his vision & creativity were displayed in all he did. Lon’s life will be celebrated on July 8, 2023, at Clement Park in Littleton, Shelter G (corner of Pierce and Bowles) from noon to 4 pm. Bring your memories.
