Kevin Gene Hansen (69), passed through Heaven’s Gates on January 12, 2024 in Phoenix, AZ. He was united with his loving parents — Shirley and Henry Hansen — as well as his twin angel granddaughters, Piper and Paisley. Kevin passed from pneumonia, with his wife and daughters at his bedside.
Kevin was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska on June 1, 1954. He was the middle child and brother to his two sisters — Deborah and Dorcas. A proud alumnus of the University of Arizona, he remained a passionate Wildcat supporter his entire life.
While further pursuing his studies in marine biology in San Diego, Ginger entered his life in January 1981. They married December 12, 1981 in Phoenix, AZ, where they resided and spent 42 blissful years together — rich in love and a selfless commitment to his family and raising four strong, independent daughters.
When he wasn’t cheering for or coaching his daughters on the softball field, Kevin — an avid outdoorsman — loved hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and spending as much time as possible near water.
After being diagnosed with Amyloidosis in March 2022, Kevin received the miracle of a new heart on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2022 — an extension of quality life to spend time doing what he loved and being with his loved ones.
Kevin is survived by sisters: Deborah (Debbie) Sullivan and Dorcas Ciskowski.
Kevin will be especially missed by “Kevin’s Girls” — led by wife: Ginger, and daughters Tammi Ledbetter and husband Bronson, Tara Burke and husband PJ, Megan Keeney and husband Brian, and Ashley Church and husband Nolan.
His legacy will also live on through his deep pride and joy for his 10 surviving grandchildren: Caden, Brittyn, and Cole Ledbetter, Keegan, Hallie, and Merrick Burke, Brian Jr. and Claire Keeney, and Kevin and Aspen Church.
Kevin’s remembrance service and celebration of life will take place Friday, February 9, 2024 at 4PM at The Big Ramada at South Mountain Park & Preserve in Phoenix, AZ. Friends and family are invited to gather afterwards at Kevin and Ginger’s home for fellowship, refreshments and heavy appetizers.
