The story of
Kenneth Franklin Slaughter, Jr. was born Sept. 17th, 1952 the third child of Eileen Edna and Kenneth Franklin Slaughter. He attended the Philadelphia Public School System and graduated from Olney High School in 1970. He loved gymnastics and was on the Germantown YMCA National Championship Team in Philadelphia, Pa. He later turned to Taekwondo where he won several awards. He attended Central State University as a Business Major with an emphasis on Computer Science. Kenny also attended West Los Angeles College completing courses in Quality Management and Statistical Process Control. Kenneth worked in inventory control, purchasing and logistics for over 20 years in California for several companies: Abbott Vascular Technologies, Natural Alternatives International, Airline Interiors and La Cantina Doors. He was a valued employee who was liked and respected by his peers. During his off time Kenny loved to cook, always trying new recipes and watching cooking competitions. Bowling was another great pastime he enjoyed. As an amateur musician Ken played the guitar. He had an awesome collection of guitars with the Gibson being his favorite. Kenneth is preceded in death by his mother Eileen Edna Slaughter, his father Kenneth Franklin Slaughter and his younger brother Byron Paul Slaughter. He is survived by his sisters Judith Maria Slaughter Howard and Twila Lea Slaughter. His nephew Jaison Lee Howard, his wife Selena Howard, nieces Elisa Leigh Howard, Kaia Symone Howard and numerous cousins. The family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the many people who have extended their support and offered their condolences and prayers to us during this difficult time.
