The story of
John J. Grana of Sun City West, AZ, formerly of Beach Park, IL passed away peacefully November 30, 2024. John is survived by his bride of 55 years Joyce, a brother, Dan Kuhl, children Jennifer (William) Pence, Jonathan (Lauren) Grana and Jessica Grana. Eight grandchildren, Anthony and Samantha Pence, Jonathan, Jayden and Giada Grana, Trenton, Torren and Taylen Curry, two great grandchildren, Callan Curry and Kaidyn Curry Rodriguez, and a host of nieces and nephews. Also surviving are seven foreign exchange students who were as much his children as his biological children, Nalle Nyman, Finland; Jennifer Papp, Spain; Yendry Campos, Costa Rica; Miriam Celani, Italy; Soren Sorensen, Denmark; Elke Neuhausen, Germany; and Ilaria Lees, Italy. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Sariddo and Johanna Grana, brothers, David and Gerald, sisters, Rosie, Susan, Geraldine and Carol. He loved crossword puzzles and tinkering in his garage whether it was making toys for the past OLH Christmas bazars or just fixing "stuff". He loved dressing as Santa Clause and giving gifts to less fortunate children. John knew no strangers and would talk to anyone and could spend hours regaling stories from his childhood forward. A celebration of life will be held On March 8, 2025 @ 10:00am , Our Lady of Humility, 10655 W Wadsworth Rd, Beach Park, IL 60099. A luncheon will follow at the Grana residence on North Av, Beach Park, IL Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Humility School, Beach Park, IL.
