John was born shortly before Christmas, in Rhode Island and died April 30th, 2024 in Aurora, CO. He is preceded in death by his fourth wife Georgia and his parents John and Gloria Barrentine. John is survived by his brother Scott, his niece Hannah, his nephew Ryland, his daughter Jill Davis from his third wife Nancy Clark, his four grandchildren, a few cousins and his many friends around Colorado and elsewhere who will miss his off-color humor and friendly personality. John fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a pilot, learning to fly at age 16 at Chandler Field in Fresno, CA. His flying career included piloting a corporate jet for his father’s business, and eventually flying private jets for Getty Inc., Texaco, and later Chevron before becoming a commercial pilot for Frontier Airlines until he retired at age 65 in 2012. John was also an animal lover and donations may be made to ASPCA.org or your favorite animal advocacy organization.
