The story of
John Duane Hutchison, 66, of Provo, Utah passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. John was a beloved father, stepfather, son, brother and a friend to everyone. He was born May 29, 1958 in Seattle, Washington to Gary DeWayne Hutchison and MaryAnn Millard Hutchison. John was tender-hearted and instantly kind. He loved fantasy, sci-fi and western books/shows. He was great with children. He loved being a dad and would do anything for his kids. He loved tinkering with things, coming up with creative solutions to problems, and improving on ordinary objects. John struggled with mental illness and disability, but tried to make the most of every day. John loved all kinds of music. He also had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing. His children remember him singing them to sleep. He played the guitar, piano, and harmonica and could pick out any tune after only hearing it once, maybe twice. John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the Lord. He had a very strong testimony of the gospel. John served an LDS mission to Taiwan. He was always committed to serving the Lord. John is survived by his two children, James Daniel Hutchison, Kirsten Noel Richins (Jesse). His ex-wife and mother to his children, Sandra Tippetts Hutchison. His step-children, Scott Ryan Eddington (Amilynne), Cass Leigh Eddington, and Erika Danielle Eddington (Adam). Sister Julie Boucher (Leo), Brother Joseph Hutchison, and many nieces and nephews that he loved. He is preceded by his Mother, Father, Stepfather (Glen Jewell), brother (James Hutchison) and brother (Jeffrey Hutchison). A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at 85 South 900 East, Provo, UT 84606
