James "Paul" McClellan, 70, Arvada, Colorado, passed away on July 11th, 2024, after experiencing heart issues while hiking his favorite trail at Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Paul was born on May 30th, 1954, to Virginia Wescott and Edward McClellan in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Although born in North Carolina, he spent most of his life in Texas and Colorado. Paul is survived by his two children, his son Justin McClellan and daughter Stacey McClellan. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward, and mother, Virginia. Paul lived his life for adventure. He was an avid hiker, biker, rock climber, and traveler, always looking for a new place to inspire his phenomenal photography skills. Paul cherished his two sisters, Linda and Carol, and the close friendships and relationships he built over his lifetime. While our hearts mourn for his loss, we take comfort in knowing he passed peacefully doing what he loved in one of his favorite spots. In honor of his wishes, we will hold a celebration of life at his home, 16956 W 63rd Dr, Arvada, CO 80403, on August 3rd, where family and friends can gather in his memory.
