"Dan" Ira D. Meltzer passed away on August 23, 2024. Born on September 10, 1946 to Sylvia and Jack (Both deceased) he grew up in Park Forest, IL with his mother, step-father Raymond Bull (Deceased), and brother Frederic (Deceased) he joined the Navy in 1964. He married his first loving wife Melodie in 1970 taking care of her children Jeffery Deinema and Cindy Deinema (Deceased). He is survived by one biological child, Julie (Keith) Dudkowski. Dan and Melodie were married until her passing in 2013. He leaves behind his Grandchildren Jason Beutler, Brooke Beutler, Blaine (Danielle) Deinema, Stephen (Rachel) Deinema, Kimberlee Deinema (Deceased), Carolyn Dudkowski, and Danielle Dudkowski. He also leaves behind 6 great grandchildren and one on the way. Dan moved to Florence, AZ in 2017 and married his new love, current wife Barbara Benitone in 2020. He cared deeply for her daughter Brooke (John) Benitone and two grandchildren. Dan was successful in owning and operating his own businesses from 1978 until 2002 when he retired and then dabbled in real estate until 2012.
