Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Hensley, 65, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home on March 14, 2023. Liz was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by her family and friends. Liz was born on March 25, 1957, to Rosemary and Wilford "Buck" Julien in Chicago, Illinois. Liz was the youngest of four children and the only girl. She was the final piece that completed her family. The family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, while Liz was in high school and made their forever home in Arizona. They missed their Chicago roots but did not miss those winters! Liz had two children who were her pride and joy, Krista born in 1981, and Justin born in 1983. Liz was a dedicated mother who made sure that her children always had delicious food (she loved to cook!) and made sure that her children were dedicated in school and involved in sports/extra-curriculars. She made sure that birthdays and holidays were special. Her big Christmas Eve parties were always a tradition to look forward to growing up! Liz was a total “foodie” and was always excited to try a new restaurant and new types of food (especially Mexican food!). Liz's favorite color was purple, she loved purses with as many pockets as possible (where she would store an exorbitant number of pens), she hated pictures and wanted nothing to do with all the new fancy technology. Liz also loved everything Irish and was known for her fiery red hair and green eyes. Liz loved all animals and was an amazing pet mom to many dogs, cats, and even a few birds that she loved over the years. Liz owned her own cleaning business for many, many years, and then went on to work in management at Basha’s for many years. She was an extremely hard worker and a dedicated business owner and employee. Liz was predeceased by her parents Rosemary and Wilford “Buck” Julien, she is survived by her three older brothers Pat, John and Tom Julien, her children Krista and Justin Hensley, her grandchildren Hudson and Tucker Hensley and her significant other of 20+ years Herbert Hartfield.
