The story of
Forever In Our Hearts Claire Lillian Dickey 5.22.67 — 2.26.25 Dear loved ones, It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Claire Bear. She passed away peacefully on the evening of February 26th 2025, due to complications from breast cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband and four children. Claire Lillian Dickey was born in the quaint little town of Salmon, Idaho on May 22nd 1967 to her loving parents Russel and Bernice Cannon. Claire lived in Salmon for over 21 years. She later moved to live with relatives in Brigham City, Utah where she found work at Maddox Restaurant. This is where Claire met her first husband Corey Buist. Soon after they were married, Claire welcomed her first son Joshua Buist. After her marriage to Corey ended, Claire moved back home to live with her mother and decided to attend college. Claire obtained a Degree in Business Management from Idaho State University. During her time at ISU she met Lyle Dickey, in Economics class. Although nervous at first, Lyle approached Claire due to her loving and beaming personality. The two became best friends, dated for a few years, and fell deeply in love. Lyle proposed On April 10th 1993 followed by a beautiful wedding at the Standrod House in Pocatello, Idaho on July 10th 1993. They were together for 32 wonderful years. Claire and Lyle were both fortunate to come across good jobs after graduation. They bought a house and settled into Pocatello for several years, where they raised Josh and their newborn son, Brennan. In 1996 they moved to Kaysville, Utah where Claire worked as a manager at a Credit Card company. They welcomed their third son Spencer in June of 1999. Shortly after, they decided to move to the great state of Washington, where they have lived for the past 24 years. They first lived in Lynnwood, Washington but would soon move to a cozy house in the City of Brier. Claire always loved how quiet and peaceful it was in the area. Once in the Pacific Northwest, they knew this was the place they wanted to be. At this point, Claire had begun a new career at Astronics, an Airline Repair & Quality Assurance Company. Claire loved her job as an Administrator for the CRR Repair Stations and had been with the company for over 22 years. This was a place where Claire shined as a beacon of kindness and happiness, for everyone she shared the building with. Claire always had a smile. Claire had made a great number of friends, and always did her best to help aid, guide and comfort her teammates. Claire deeply loved everyone she had worked with and met over the years. In October of 2010, Claire and Lyle had grown to love one of Brennan’s close friends, Rachel. After finding out about her hard upbringing, they decided to welcome her into their home as a new addition to their family. Claire loved her husband, children, and family pets with her full heart. On June 2nd 2020, Claire received her first diagnosis of Breast Cancer. She underwent months of treatments and had a double mastectomy. Claire was in remission for 18 months before the breast cancer returned and spread to Stage IV - Oligometastatic Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with Estrogen Positive, Progesterone Negative, HER2 Positive.
