The story of
Barry Snider, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, in Sun City West, Arizona, at the age of 86. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 13, 1938, Barry lived a life rich in adventure and discovery. After a successful career as an attorney, Barry embraced his entrepreneurial spirit, founding a thriving business creating stunning ironwood statues, which led him on exciting journeys from Mexico to Hawaii. His adventures continued as he explored the country in his RV, boating off the Florida coast, and pursued his passion for fishing, whether casting a line in a peaceful lake or battling an amberjack on the high seas. An avid reader, Barry’s thirst for knowledge was never-ending. He devoured books of all kinds, which broadened his horizons and fueled his curiosity. His love for literature was just one of the many ways he engaged with the world around him. Beyond his professional achievements and adventurous spirit, Barry’s true legacy lies in his kindness and devotion to others. He rescued countless animals, at one point caring for 8 rescue dogs, earning the gratitude of many furry friends, and his generous heart was evident in his care for neighborhood wildlife, especially the wild rabbits he often fed. Known for his positive outlook, Barry faced life with unwavering optimism and his signature exclamation, "HOO-HAH!" which captured his zest for living. Barry is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Donna Snider; his first wife, Barbara Geddry; his children, Robin, Marc, and Eric Snider; his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Taryn, Amber, Parker, and Kailey; and his great-grandchildren, Noraya and Bodhi. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory lives on in the hearts of his family and friends—a testament to a life well-lived.
