Annette “Jean” Walker was born to Harry and Anna DeVries on January 28, 1930 in Pasco, Washington. She passed away peacefully at home in Newberg, Oregon surrounded by family members on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the age of 94.
Over the years, Jean lived in the Pacific Northwest, Southern California and Western New York.
The hallmark of Jean’s life was a gift of hospitality and caring for others, a legacy passed down from her father. She loved to spend time with her family most of all but treasured her time with many wonderful friends. Besides holidays and other special occasions, Jean always enjoyed time on the Oregon Coast and sunny destinations. While raising her five children, she was very successful in her association with the Home Interiors and Gifts Company. This complimented her talent in making things beautiful. She enjoyed setting a lovely table and preparing food for her guests. Jean leaves a legacy of family and caring for others and will be missed by many.
Jean is preceded in death by Jack Bowdish and Ross Walker, sister Ruth Dormaier, brother Ken DeVries, brother Ted DeVries, daughter Jodi Ohl and son Breck Bowdish.
She is survived by her sister Pearl Wold, son Brad Bowdish (Cathy), son Barney (Jan), son Philip Walker (Sharon), and daughter Annette Hufford (Arly). She leaves eleven grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
