The story of
Anne "Annie" Louise Brochu Ferris, 61, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona. Born in El Paso, Texas, Annie attended our Lady of the Valley School, Eastwood High School, and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor's degree in Marketing. She loved UTEP and the city of El Paso. In 1998, she opened AnnieMo's, which brought her incredible joy. Annie was one of the top Christmas designers in the country. She grew and operated her store for over 27 years, delighting El Pasoans with her magical creativity and talent in floral design. It was her lifeline during times of grave illness, keeping her spirit alive. Annie already had this year's vision mapped out and was so excited about bringing it to life. Annie was also a talented tennis player, but her true passion was coaching others. She inspired hundreds of adults to love the game through her coaching style -- a combination of skills, discipline, and fun. Annie was always fun -- infusing humor into everything she did. She was a master limerick and joke teller and always had a line ready for any occasion. And she loved giving people nicknames as terms of endearment. If you had a nickname from Annie, she loved you. In 2018, she met and fell in love with Michael Ferris. She proclaimed him the love of her life and they married in 2022. Throughout her illness, Michael was a strong advocate for Annie with medical professionals. He loved and cared for her every step of the way. They were true soulmates. There are many words to describe Annie, but "fierce" is one that encompasses her essence; she was fiercely passionate about her store and the quality of her work. She was fiercely dedicated to furthering the sport of tennis through coaching and advocacy. She was fiercely devoted to her pets, Chester, Sophie and Stuart. She was fiercely brave in her fight against the terrible illness that ravaged her body. But mostly, she fiercely loved her family and friends. She loved hard, was fiercely loyal, and brought joy to everyone around her. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ellen "Ruby" Brochu, and by her nephew, Jack Bell. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Ferris, and his family, and her beloved Sophie and Stuart. Also surviving her are her siblings Marlene Crumley, Michael (Caprice) Brochu, Paul (Becky) Brochu, Mary (Greg) Bell, and John (Kim) Brochu. She was a devoted aunt and great aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed, and loved for an eternity, resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus. Michael and Annie's family express their gratitude to the medical professionals at Mayo Hospital, and the infusion nurses at Las Palmas ambulatory infusion center for their caring and compassion. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14 at the Casitas Coronado Clubhouse at 3:00 pm. 5730 Mira Sierra Lane, El Paso, TX 79912. Flowers for the service may be sent to 5730 Mira Sierra Lane on Thursday, March 13th. Gifts can be made to UTEP in Annie's memory to establish a scholarship in her name to benefit nursing students.
