It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Andrew Darrah (Andy), 45, Passed away on June 21st, 2023. Andy was born on August 20th, 1977, Sandpoint Idaho. He is survived by his mother Judy, stepfather Marty Sr, sister Elizabeth, stepbrother Marty Jr, son Andrew (Ty Ty), and many other extended family and friends. He lived in Nehalem, Oregon for many wonderful years surrounded by his best friends and longtime girlfriend Nancy and their dog Lilly.
Andy had a passion for fishing, cooking, and listening to music. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbors and brought a smile to everyone’s face. Andy loved practical jokes, scaring people, and telling stories that would make everyone laugh. He was known for his love of being with family and spending time with his childhood best friends. Andy loved spending time at the beach, the surrounding rivers near his home fishing, and playing Harry potter weekly trivia online weekly with his mom.
Andy was the favorite Uncle for all the kids, spoiling them every chance he got. His love for his family and friends was evident in all that he did for them. Andy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In remembrance of Andy, it was his desire to be cremated and to have his ashes scattered at his favorite river fishing spot. He spent a lot of time as a child with his stepfather Marty reeling in the biggest, most desired fish, and making the other fisherman jealous. He had so many fond memories there.
As a family, we find some peace knowing he touched your life in a meaningful way and that you touched his heart. We find happiness in knowing he will live on in all our memories. He may not have lived a perfect life, but he lived a good one that touched the lives of others. One that we will forever cherish, and we will continue to remember in the years ahead.
If you would like to donate in honor of Andy, we ask instead that you stop by his place of work at the Manzanita lighthouse pub and grub for a bite to eat in his memory.
