Alaine Marsha (Watt) Gohn, aged 73, passed away September 30th, 2024 in Surprise, Arizona.
Alaine had a deep and meaningful faith. Her readiness to be with her savior, Jesus Christ, speaks to her trust and hope in the promise of eternal life.
Alaine was born on November 24th, 1950 to Winston and Ruth Watt in Sheridan, Wyoming. She grew up on a ranch in Montana and later made her way to Montana State University in Bozeman. It is here, that during class, she finds the love of her life, Edward (her Eddie) Gohn. They married and raised their three children in Fountain Valley, California. You often found Alaine baking, sewing, volunteering, and playing card games with her grandchildren. Scrabble, Yahtzee and Uno were more than games, they were opportunities to teach, listen, and laugh. These gatherings brought joy to those around her and showcased Alaine’s gift of listening.
Alaine was a die-hard Los Angeles Clippers fan! Well, until they betrayed her by trading her favorite player, Blake Griffin. Alaine kept her cheers local, becoming a Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers fan. Alaine dedicated her time giving back to the community. A couple of her favorite volunteer jobs were at the local library or feeding those less fortunate. One year, she "compelled" her family to join her in Orlando to feed the less fortunate. As a reward, she then took everyone to Disney World. Her ideal day would include a slice of pie and a good conversation with her friends or children. She loved spending time spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the best at ensuring everyone felt equally loved, ensuring each family member was equally represented on the walls and shelves at home.
Alaine was a world traveler who explored far beyond the United States. She shared these journeys with Edward, her husband of 53 years. The big trips were great, but Alaine would tell you her favorite trips were on a Riverboat cruise in the United States.
Alaine was preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry (Junie) and grandson Damon. She is survived by her husband, Edward, and their children Marci (John), David (Valency) and Michelle; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and her brother Philip (Maureen).
For friends, family and those lives touched by Alaine, a memorial service will be held on October 19th , 2024 at New Song United Methodist Church, 16303 W Bell Rd, Surprise, AZ, from 3-4PM to reminisce, grieve and support each other.
