In Loving Memory of Richard Ivie
Richard Ivie, a man of unwavering faith, dedicated family values, and a fervent love for Jesus, peacefully passed away on December 18th, 2023, at the age of 77. Born in Hamilton, Ohio, Richard's life was a testament to the priorities he held dear—his relationship with God, his family, and a simple joy for life.
Richard's devotion to Jesus was the cornerstone of his existence. His faith wasn't just a Sunday ritual; it was a guiding force that shaped his character, influencing his interactions with others and providing a source of strength throughout his journey.
Professionally, Richard found purpose in his work as a contractor, but as the years unfolded, he discovered the importance of finding balance between his professional and personal life. Recognizing the significance of quality time with his family, he sought harmony in his pursuits, understanding that a life well-lived is one that embraces both professional success and cherished moments with loved ones.
Away from work, Richard discovered solace in the simplicity of life. His love for fishing and operating heavy machinery, particularly backhoes, became avenues for relaxation and reflection. Whether casting a line by the water or maneuvering machinery, these moments allowed him to connect with the beauty of the world around him.
Richard's legacy lives on through his four children, each carrying forward the values he held dear: Deborah Frei (Dean), Susan Ostrout (Tim), Daniel Ivie, and DaCoda Vogel (Mitch). His six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, along with his children, will continue to cherish the lessons he imparted.
A memorial service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at Calvary Phoenix, 12612 N Black Canyon Hwy, Phoenix, AZ 85029, on Saturday, February 3rd, 2023, at 12:00 PM. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that attendees bring and share memories during the reception, honoring Richard's life and the impact he had on those around him.
May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with the Lord he loved, and may his memory inspire others to cherish their faith, family, and the simple joys of life.
