Jose’ Smith, age 68, passed away on February 2, 2025, in Pasadena, California. He was born on June 9, 1956, in Pembroke, Bermuda, UK.
Jose’ was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was predeceased by his mother, Helen Smith Doers, and siblings Kim Anderson, Karon Wilson, Frank Smith, and Donna Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 33 years, Latisha Smith; his children, Natosha Simmons (Jermaine) and Joshua Smith; and his grandchildren, Nijae Smith, Nasir Simmons, and Jalon Simmons. He is also survived by his sisters, May Ruth Mangino, Belita Smith, and Sherry Thompson; his aunt, Ivy Smith; his uncles, James Sam Smith and Erskine Choe Smith; brothers-in-law, Mitchell Stewart (Andrena) and Rodney Stewart; sisters-in-law, Sheila Taylor (David), Monica Curry (Sammie), Karen Stewart, and Andrea Stewart. He will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Jose’s life will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First AME Church, 1700 North Raymond Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91103.
Jose’ will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
