The story of
Jeremy Michael Carscallen, age 43, was born on March 28, 1981, in Kyondo, Kivu Province, Zaire (now Democratic Republic of the Congo) to Carey and Dorothy Carscallen. He passed away November 11, 2024, in Seattle, Washington, where he lived. Jeremy spent the first 9 years of his life with his missionary family in Zaire (DRC) and Rwanda. In his teenage years he developed a love for playing basketball, rollerblading, playing guitar and acting. His summers were spent on his father’s commercial fishing boat which later he captained for a few years. During college he acted in and directed the annual Passion Play at Andrews University, where he also graduated top of his class with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He then practiced in various places before putting down roots in Seattle. Jeremy and his then-wife Allegra spent a year in Taiwan teaching English. They enjoyed traveling together and took another year off to see the world. After returning to Seattle, Jeremy opened his own Physical Therapy practice in nearby Sammamish. During his time in Seattle, Jeremy and Allegra welcomed their son Niko, his pride and joy. Jeremy would often take Niko on adventures to parks or the beach and they spent many hours playing games and legos together. He is survived by his son Niko Carscallen, his parents, Carey and Dorothy Carscallen, his brother and sister-in-law Peter and Monica Carscallen and their children Patrick and Eleanor, his sister and brother-in-law Kristin and Jorden Parker and their children Ryleigh, Coraline and Mabrey, his grandmother Lois Carscallen, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Vern Carscallen and Gregory Crumley, and his grandmother Florence Crumley. He will be deeply missed.
