The story of
Late on the evening of Friday, January 26th, 2024, Dana George Hamstreet left this earth to "fly like an eagle." Flying was his life's passion. Soar high Dana. Dana was born to John and Kay Hamstreet in Klamath Falls Oregon on September 16th, 1952. He graduated from Canby High and attended Treasure Valley Community College, where he went to flight school and graduated with his pilots license in 1972. He worked for Gunderson building railcars in Portland,Oregon, where he was a Foreman for many years. Dana loved the mountains, fishing and hunting, but his greatest joy was flying. His first solo flight was on his 16th birthday, before he could even drive a car. The first plane he owned was a Cessna he spent countless hours flying. In 1997, Dana moved to San Miguel de Allende, where he enjoyed the beautiful city, culture, food and history. He only lived there a couple of years but said many times it was one of his greatest life experiences. He is survived by his brother Matt Hamstreet and daughters Molly Hamstreet- Edmon and Mendy Zuern. His grandchildren -Treyton Hamstreet, TaRyah Hamstreet, TyAllen Edmon, and Zoriana Edmon. This is a huge loss for our family but we know he is resting peacefully with his mother and father and his sister. Fly high Dana and rest peacefully.
