The story of
In the early morning hours on August 30th, 2024, Brian 67, passed away at his residence whom he shared with his brother, John in Apache Junction, AZ. The cause of death was due to COPD and heart disease. Our brother, John was by his side. Brian's last words to John were "I love you." Brian was born in Phoenix, Arizona on October 6, 1956. He graduated from Maryvale High School in 1974, and wrestled on their team for 3 years. Brian loved to read and was a walking, talking Encyclopedia. My dad always said he was the smartest of us 8 kids. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and operator by trade. Unfortunately, Brian fought his addiction with drugs on and off throughout his life. On our fathers' deathbed, Brian promised to get clean once and for all. He kept his promise and was clean the last 4 years of his life. Brian was a gentle soul with a big, kind and loving heart. Brian is survived by his 2 brothers: John and Tom and 4 sisters: Eileen (Del), Merrill, Anne Marie Parra, Mary (Jim) Blasdell and Candace "Candy" Duran. He is also survived by his step-mom, Alicia (Stewart) Wood and several nieces and nephews. Brian is proceeded in death by his mother, Claire (Hogan) Wood, his father, Clayton Wood and his oldest brother, Clay Michael Wood. Our brother, Brian found his way back to our Lord and Savior and the rest is history... We would also like to thank the staff at Noble Hospice. There are no words to express our gratitude for the care, love and respect that they bestowed upon our brother, Brian. We are forever grateful. We will be doing a Celebration of Life on Brian's birthday (per his request). Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Please message his sister, Mary for the address and directions to her home at 602-663-3944.
