Betty Joan Pitts Dockrey, 92, passed away in Phoenix, AZ Jan. 11, 2023. Betty was born in Panhandle, Texas to Clark Oliver "Shorty” and Vita Thompson Hinshaw.
After high school, she attended Amarillo College and Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated in 1950. She was employed as a nurse for 30 years. She married Harold Pitts Jr in 1951. They resided in Grand Junction, CO, Gas Hills, WY, and Boulder, CO. After Harold passed, she married Beeman Dockrey in 2000, residing in Colorado City, TX. After Beeman passed, she resided in Peoria, AZ.
She is survived by her sister Charlotte Rathjen, sons Steve (Janet), Ken, and Roger (Lori), daughter Marcia Kaiser (Michel), grandchildren Nathan (Hannah), Jason, Nicole Kaiser, Garrett Kaiser (Ashley), and great-grandson Elijah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, second husband Beeman, her sister Olive Ruth Profitt, twin sister Mary Jean Kaufhold, and brother Charles Edwin Hinshaw.
She will be laid to rest with Hal at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
