Anna Loraine Wagner Lightbody, 95 passed away peacefully on 7/10/2023.
Anna was born in Alvordton, Ohio on 2/19/1928. She grew up living in Montpelier, Ohio. She was proceeded in death by her parents Chester & Allie Wallace along with siblings Theda, Elsie, Bill, Iris and Darwina, she is survived by her brother Jim.
Anna graduated from Montpelier High School in 1945. She went on to nurses training in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from Flower Hospital School of Nursing in 1948.
Anna married Ronald Wagner (deceased) and together raised their four sons in South Toledo, David (deceased), Robert (Peggy),Thomas (Carol) and William (Marty). She is also survived by (9) grandchildren, Michael, Stacy, Bryan, Melissa, Andrew, Molly, Kyle, Andy & Anna along with (12) great grandchildren Zoe, Kai, Lily, Kayla, Kylie, Myles, Layla, Marshall, Calvin, Ty, Wells & Ames.
Anna was a homemaker and also worked in the family’s plastics factory. Performing numerous duties from book keeper, machine operator to supervising the house keeping crew (her boys).
Anna participated in many outdoor activities with her family, swimming across Hemlock lake, hiking Half Dome, biking TOSRV, whitewater rafting The New & Gauley rivers, cross country skiing, ice skating and tobogganing at Pokagon state park. At the age of 82 she celebrated her grand daughter’s high school graduation and together they went sky diving. She enjoyed watching her boys, grand children and great grand children in all their sporting endeavors. She liked to sew and knit. She loved animals and really enjoyed dogs. As matriarch, family gatherings were very special to her. Anna was also a breast cancer survivor.
Anna moved back to Montpelier, Ohio in 1984. Ten years later she remarried to high school sweetheart Lynn Lightbody (deceased)and moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. She stayed in Florida for many years after Lynn died. Anna had several friends and good neighbors in Florida. She moved to Orchard Pointe at Terrazza in Peoria, AZ in 2021 to be close to family. Anna stayed active with frequent hikes up the hill at CCV, swimming at the Orchard Pointe pool and off roading with her granddaughter’s family. Anna was an inspiration to her family, was loved and will be missed.
