The story of
Craig Aaron Gordon, 50, of Surprise, AZ, formerly from Moundsville, WV, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 21, 2024. He was born August 21, 1973, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Bill and Kay Reynolds Gordon. Craig was a 1991 John Marshall High School graduate and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from West Liberty University. His family moved to North Carolina in 2008 and lived there until moving to Arizona in 2021. He was a safety coordinator for New Legend. He enjoyed teaching guitar lessons, watching wrestling, going on spontaneous adventures, spending time with family, relaxing at the beach, and fishing. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Craig developed a deep appreciation for music at a young age. Whether he was strumming his guitar or singing along to his favorite songs, his love for music was evident to all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his aunt, Donna Lou Applegarth; uncle, Terry Reynolds; and brother-in-law, Larry Arrojo. He is survived by his loving wife, Carrie Gordon; their three children, Kaylee (Skyler) Mendoza, Brock Christner, and Darby Gordon; their granddaughter, Ellie Mendoza, all of Surprise, AZ; step-father, Lyle McMasters of Moundsville, WV; two sisters, Julie Arrojo of Powhatan Point, OH; and Deborah (Randy) Hall of Vanceboro, NC; brother-in-law, Chris Christner of Moundsville, WV; uncle, Tex (Theresa) Reynolds of Moundsville, WV; several cousins and nephews. It was Craig’s desire to be cremated and to have his ashes scattered at the beach where he spent so many cherished days with his family. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Craig’s name, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
